The Family Services Department hosted its Annual Picnic on Friday, July 21 at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville. Nearly 57 clients, some with their children, enthusiastically participated in this annual event. They also got a chance to tour the animal farm and water ponds. Children received loot bags and participated in age appropriate games for prizes. The parents enjoyed some time to interact with others and play “chain tag” where each person linked hands upon being caught and worked together to catch and add more people to the final friendship chain. Clients with physical limitations were treated to a game of linguistically specific “broken telephone”. The feedback about the event was very positive with many clients sharing that they needed a day like this to feel carefree and happy.
